How do I make direct deposits?

The easiest way to deposit funds to your Spending Account is by direct deposit from your employer. 

To make direct deposits through your employer or payroll provider, provide them with your Chime routing number and Spending Account number. Chime takes care of the rest.
Your funds will automatically post to your Chime Spending Account as soon as we receive them.

To get started, you can find your bank routing number and Spending Account number in the Chime app sections, Move Money and Settings, or by logging in to your account online.  


How do I make bank transfers to my Chime Spending Account?

External banks allow transfers to Chime from their websites and apps.

To get started:

  1. Log in to your old bank's website or app.
  2. Look for the Transfer menu option.
  3. In the transfer screen, you can add your Chime routing and account number, found in the Chime app on the Settings page.





How do I make a bank transfers that Chime initiates? 

You can link an external bank account you own to your Chime Spending Account using the Chime app through the Move Money section, or by logging in to your account online.

In the Chime app:

  1. Under Move Money, select Transfers.
  2. When you are prompted, enter your other bank’s login credentials.
    Your external bank account will be instantly linked to your Chime Spending Account. 

Once the external account is linked, you can make transfers from the external account to your Spending Account of up to $200.00 per day and $1,000.00 per month. Transferred funds will be available within five (5) business days.

Chime only supports the following banks for this bank transfer service: 

  • Chase
  • Bank of America
  • Wells Fargo
  • Citi
  • US Bank
  • USAA
  • Fidelity
  • PNC Bank
  • Capital One 360
  • TD Bank
  • SunTrust
  • Navy Federal
  • Charles Schwab

How can I deposit cash to my Chime Spending Account? 

(Please note: By clicking on some of the links below, you will leave the Chime website and be directed to an external website. You can deposit cash in your Chime Spending Account at over 90,000 retail locations (like Walmart, Walgreens, and 7-Eleven) with our cash deposit partners. Visit to find a cash deposit retail location near you. 

At the retail location, ask the cashier to make a deposit to your Chime Spending Account. You can make up to 3 deposits every 24 hours. You can add up to $1,000.00 every 24 hours for a maximum of $10,000.00 every month.

Third-party money transfer services that are used to add funds to your Chime Spending Account may impose their own fees or limits such as:

  • Fees per transaction 
  • Daily, weekly, or monthly limits on the frequency or the amount of cash you may add to the Chime Spending Account


Can I make wire transfers to my Chime Spending Account? 

Chime does not currently allow wire transfers. We will be adding this feature in the future. 


How do I enroll in Mobile Check Deposit?

Chime offers Mobile Check Deposit for members who are enrolled in direct deposit with their Chime Spending Accounts.

We’ll determine if you are eligible for the Mobile Check Deposit feature based factors related to your Chime account history and account activity. If you have any questions, please contact us through the Chime app by clicking on the Support tab (you’ll find this in the top right corner of the app).
